New Bedford MA-Rose Bettencourt died Friday June 23, 2006 at Southeastern Massachusetts Health & Rehab Center. She was the widow of Antonio Bettencourt. She was also the widow of Amos Nunes. She was the sister of George and Joseph Avila both of Florida. She was also survived by several nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Bettencourt was the daughter of the late Manuel and Marianna Avila. She was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life. She was a stitcher for Economy Blouse until her retirement.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church Padanaram on Wednesday July 5, 2006 at 10 A.M. Relatives and friend are invited to meet at church.
In accordance with her wishes she was cremated.
Following the mass, interment of cremains will be at Rural Cemetery.
