Robert J. Meighan, a life long Dedham resident, passed away on Sunday, June 25th, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 73. Mr. Meighan was born in Boston in 1933 and was the son of the late Frank and Mary Meighan. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a rigger in the construction industry and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25. He was also a member of the Dedham VFW and the Dedham American Legion.
He was the beloved husband of Faye C. (Driscoll) Meighan for 42 years. He was the devoted father of Robert J. Meighan and his fiancée Kelly Andrade of Dedham, David K. Meighan of San Francisco, CA, Paul F. Meighan and his wife Debra of Dedham and Deborah E. Giguere and her husband Marc of Dedham. He also leaves his grandchildren Aaron and Michael Meighan. He was the brother of John Meighan of Dedham and the late Mary Miller.
His funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Thursday at 8:00 AM. His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
