Obituary

Maureen  J. “Moe” Sullivan, 60,  of Salem, NH, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Lawrence General Hospital with her family by her side after a period of declining health.

The daughter of the late Edward M. Sullivan and the late Rosemary (Shaw) Sullivan, she was born July 23, 1963, in Somerville, grew up in Tewksbury Ma and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School, Class of 1983.

She worked at Wang Laboratories in the mailroom in the 1980’s. In addition, she also volunteered at RARA and Bayberry for many years where she was able to fulfill her love for helping others.

She had quite a full social calendar and we often joked she was busier than most. She enjoyed activities such as bowling, bingo, themed dances and trips with friends. She enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics and was extremely involved in the community at RARA in Lowell, MA. She looked forward to attending EC week at Camp Fatima every summer where she was able to both catch up with old friends and make new ones.

She loved spending her free time at Magic Brush in Tewksbury and if she won even a small amount at bingo, it was like she hit the lottery. Her love for anything and everything Disney was undeniable. She was the happiest person on earth whenever she had the opportunity to visit the happiest place on earth. She loved working on puzzles and always had a word search or sudoku book nearby.

What she loved most was spending time with family, friends and especially Sadie (the family dog). Family meant everything to Moe, and the community at RARA were truly like a second family to her. She was the biggest cheerleader for the people she loved & wasn’t afraid to express how proud she was of them; whether it was her niece & nephew in their school/sports events, her friends in their activities, or even the Boston Red Sox every season going for the title.

To know her, was to love her. She will be remembered for her constant smile, twinkle in her eye, friendly nature, contagious laugh and ability to light up every room she walked into.

Her survivors include her brothers, Edward M. "Ted" Sullivan Jr. and his wife, Erin, of Salem, NH, and Paul S. Sullivan and his wife, Melissa, of Amesbury, MA; her beloved niece and nephew, Kaitlyn Rosemary and Michael Edward both of Salem, NH; as well as several cousins and friends she made throughout her lifetime.

All are welcome to attend her visitation on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
