Obituary

Westbrook, Maine - Vickie Pierce, a woman of incredible strength, courage, and unwavering love, quietly departed this world on October 1, 2023, in the comfort of her own home. She was just shy of her 67th birthday.
Vickie was born on October 30, 1956, to Margaret and Harold Stoddard. She hailed from Westbrook, Maine, where she spent her life creating a tapestry of love, compassion, and indomitable spirit.
On November 24, 1979, Vickie married Graham G. Pierce, and together they embarked on a journey filled with countless memories. After Graham passed in 2008, Vickie remained steadfast, displaying grit and determination in every facet of her life.
Throughout her life, Vickie was known for her boundless love, care, and compassion. She was a devoted mother and provided a loving, caring, and supportive home to all her children. Her home was also a haven for four-legged family members, including Maverick, a special addition who brought much joy to her life.
Vickie's journey was not without its challenges, as she faced a long and valiant battle with cancer. She exhibited a courageous fighter's spirit until the very end, never allowing her illness to dim her zest for life.
Before her health condition made it impossible to continue working, Vickie served as an office manager, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to her profession. Vickie had a passion for reading, often immersing herself in books. Her culinary skills were also a testament to her adventurous spirit. As an avid canner and preserver, she loved experimenting with new recipes and sharing her culinary creations with friends and family.
Vickie was a dedicated volunteer, contributing her time for many years to the Cumberland County 4-H programs. She was also the leader of the 4-H Exchange Club, and one of her favorite experiences was traveling to Alaska as part of the program.
With her quiet, contagious laugh and tell-it-like-it-is spirit, Vickie brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Often called a "tough cookie," she was the embodiment of strength and independence. She lived her life doing for others, selflessly giving her time and love to those in need.
Vickie is survived by her children Peter Pierce and his wife Candi of Clermont Florida, Carrie Miskin and her husband Erik of Gray, Marcy Pierce of Waterboro, Noah Toman of Westbrook, and Caleb Toman of Westbrook; her siblings Harold III, Herbert (Kelly), James, Matthew, Jean Carolan, Katherine Noiles, Donna Watson, and Lisa Stoddard; her grandchildren Desiree, Emily, Grace, and Emma. Vickie is predeceased by sisters, Margo Paterson and Victoria Stout.
A celebration of Vickie's remarkable life will be held at 33 Elmwood Avenue Westbrook on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering and celebrating a life well-lived.
Vickie Pierce will be deeply missed, and her legacy of love, strength, and selflessness will forever be a source of inspiration to us all.
