Obituary

Donna M. Doyle (Dean), of Cranston, RI passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on October 1, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, RI, Donna was the oldest of four children, a beloved daughter of the late Ellen M. Dean (Duffy) and William J. Dean. She was predeceased by her sisters Ellen S. Dean and Nancy L. Maroney (Dean), whom she missed dearly.

Donna was the loving wife of Dana C. Doyle for 12 years, whom she enjoyed traveling with to National Parks, the Caribbean, Ireland, and many road trips throughout the years. She was the dedicated mother to Ellen Morey Robinson (James) and Michael R. Morey (Sara); two step-sons, Jesse Doyle and Wesley Doyle (Anne). She leaves behind her adored granddaughters: Jillian Ceceri Brady (Cameron), Allison Ceceri, Ava Morey, Madison Morey and step-granddaughters Stephanie Robinson and Cora Doyle. Donna is survived by her brother, William S. Dean, along with nieces and nephews.

As a graduate of Ponaganset High School, Class of 1974, Donna resided in Chepachet for many years where she also raised her children and worked as a School Bus Driver. Additionally, Donna worked in Banking, at various banks and times, including a 23-year career at Rhode Island Credit Union before retiring.

Donna was an avid reader of Danielle Steel novels and a long-time viewer of the soap opera, “Days of Our Lives”, and other TV game shows. She enjoyed shopping excursions and was a discount enthusiast, making an annual “School Shopping Day” with her granddaughters. Donna cherished family times and looked forward to birthdays, celebrations, and holidays with her family. As “Nana”, she cheered her granddaughters on with their school and sporting events. She never missed an opportunity to spoil them with love, attention, and gifts. Her affection toward her granddogs and grandcats was reciprocal as all wanted Nana’s attention. Donna took great pride in keeping a pristine home, with decor that changed seasonally. Donna will be remembered as a strong-willed Irish woman, with a deep love of family. She will forever be missed.
