Obituary

LACONIA ---- Lorraine Marjory Parvin, 90, of Court Street, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laconia, NH. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the entire staff of St. Francis RNC for the heartfelt care Lorraine received while living there from 2021-2023.

Lorraine was born on March 21, 1933, in Laconia, the daughter of the late Willie and Rose (Gagne) DeBlois.

Lorraine graduated from Laconia High School Class of 1951 and worked at Scott and Williams until she had her two sons.

Lorraine enjoyed baking cookies and making French meat pies. She adored children and babies, especially her grandson Curtis Parvin and goddaughter Nicole (DeBlois) Broeffle. Lorraine was a very devout Catholic whose faith cannot be denied, because she prayed for everyone all the time. Lorraine's undeniable devotion to her two sons and faith is what kept her going through the years.

Lorraine is survived by her two sons Michael Parvin and his wife Claire (Beaudoin) Parvin of North Providence, RI and Mark Parvin and his wife Darlene (Davis) Parvin of Pinellas Park, FL; and one grandson Curtis Parvin and wife Deborah (Woolley) Parvin of Woonsocket, RI. In addition to her parents, Lorraine is preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband Paul Parvin, who passed in 2016. She had four siblings Norman, Ray, Richard, and Beatrice DeBlois who also preceded her in death. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends (Laconia, Chichester, Bristol, Belmont NH, and several family members in Maine and Connecticut).

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 9:30 am-11:00 am, at St. Andre Bessette Parish at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH 03246.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at the church.

Burial will follow Mass at the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia, NH.

The family suggests, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 406 Court Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
