Obituary

SPRINGFIELD - Elizabeth "Betty" (Crafsic) Meyers, 82, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on October 4, 1940, a beloved daughter of the late Stanley A. and Elizabeth J. "Elsie" (Kennedy) Crafsic. She was raised on Hungry Hill, graduated from the former Cathedral High School in Springfield and had lived in Springfield most of her life. She furthered her education and graduated from the Mercy Hospital Surgical Technician Program in Springfield. She was employed as a Surgical Technician at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Hope Church and currently was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, both in Springfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed painting, skiing, fishing, camping, cooking and her time at the ocean. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her beloved husband, Edward "Bruce" Meyers. They were married on January 27, 1964 in Agawam and were blessed with over 59 years of happiness together. She also leaves her four loving children, Dennis B. Meyers and his companion, Tracy Johnson, of North Franklin, CT, Gerry E. Meyers and his wife, Christine, and Christine E. Chapman and her husband, Brian, all of West Springfield and Elizabeth A. "Beth" Sylvester and her husband, Kevin, of Springfield; her seven cherished grandchildren, Courtney Meyers of Boston, Ian Meyers of Manhattan, NY, Jacob Meyers and Chloe Meyers, both of West Springfield, Nathan Chapman of West Springfield and Evan Sylvester and Braidyn Sylvester, both of Springfield; her dear brother, David Crafsic and his wife, Diane, of Westfield; her dear sister in law, Diane M. Tremaine and her husband, Dave, of Beaver Dams, NY; her two dear nephews, Michael Crafsic and Alex Dawson; and her many dear cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving son, Eric L. Meyers; her two dear brothers, Edward Crafsic and James Crafsic; her dear nephew, Stephen Crafsic; and her two dear nieces, Laurie Crafsic and Vivian Dawson. Her family will receive friends on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her Burial will be private.
