WEIRS BEACH ---- Marguerite “Peggy” June (Wyman) Evans, 86, of Weirs Beach and formerly of Jamaica Plain, MA, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 after a brief illness.
Peggy was born on April 21, 1937, in Portland, ME, the daughter of the late Arthur and Pauline Wyman.
Prior to retirement, Peggy worked for 42 years as the Director of Auxiliary Services for Wheelock College, Boston, MA.
Peggy was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Wife of 64 years to the late William “Bill” Evans, Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Debora E. Evans of Lawrence, MA, and Dianne Evans Vercammen and her husband Richard of North Reading, MA; her son, Daniel Evans of Weirs Beach, NH; five grandchildren, Matthew, Justin and Peter Evans, and Richard and Rebecca Vercammen; one great-grandchild, William E. Evans; her sister, Virginia Cunningham of Damariscotta, ME and her most precious canine companion, Lola.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband Bill to dance in the sky for all eternity. Mom, you are already deeply missed, give Dad a hug for us.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, September 25, 2023 in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA.
