Clement A. St. Hilaire, 67 of Londonderry, NH, died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at his home. Mr. St. Hilaire was born in Berlin, NH on April 18, 1939, a son of the late Roger and Emelda (Montminy) St. Hilaire. He was a resident of Londonderry for the past seven years, formerly living in Stratham, NH. He grew up in Berlin, NH and spent most of his life in Rumford, ME. He graduated from Stevens High School in Rumford and attended the University of Maine. Mr. St. Hilaire served in the U.S. Marines and Marine Reserves. For 10 years he worked in the Rumford Paper Mill. He then worked for 10 years as an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and had received many major distinctions for sales achievements and belonged to the Million Dollar Round Table. He then became owner and proprietor of St. Hilaire Insurance and Real Estate with offices in Rumford, Auburn, ME and Stratham, NH. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he loved to ski, camp and dance. Mr. St. Hilaire also enjoyed studying law.
He is survived by his fiancé, Janice Murphy of Londonderry, a daughter, Sheri L. Flaherty of Durham, NH, two sons, Timothy St. Hilaire of Auburn, ME, Scot G. St. Hilaire of Lewiston, ME, five grandchildren, Hanna, Thea and Stephen Flaherty, Alexandria and Jonathan St. Hilaire, a brother, Richard St. Hilaire of Manchester, NH, and a sister, Collette Arsenault and her husband Raymond of Pittsfield, ME. He was predeceased by his sister in law, Lillian St. Hilaire.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 10:00am in the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry handled the arrangements. Graveside services were held Wednesday in St. A and St. John’s Cemetery, Isthmus Rd., Rumford, ME at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Bldg., 360 State Rt. 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
