Obituary

On September 11, 2023, the world lost a beloved traveler and dedicated volunteer, Don Potash, at his residence in Clearwater, Florida. Born on March 2, 1959, in Binghamton, New York, Don's journey through life was a remarkable adventure filled with a profound love for exploring new horizons, the tranquility of golf courses, the serenity of fishing, and a tireless commitment to healthcare as a Respiratory Therapist with Tift Regional Medical Center for 35 years.

Don's passion for travel was a defining aspect of his life. He roamed the world with an insatiable curiosity, soaking in the beauty of diverse cultures and landscapes. His wanderlust not only broadened his own horizons but also served as an inspiration to others, igniting their own sense of adventure.

Don's heart was as vast as the oceans he cast his lines into. The tranquility of the water, the gentle rhythm of the waves brought him immense happiness.

His compassionate spirit extended to the community as well. Don generously volunteered with numerous charities, including beach cleanups, where he demonstrated his commitment to preserving the beauty of the coastline for future generations.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Potash and Eleanor Potash. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Potash (Melody Fulp-Linder), Zach Weeks (Haylei), and his daughter, Emily Potash. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Potash, and his wife, Susan, along with his niece, Erica Potash.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 4:00 PM, with visitation starting one hour prior in the Chapel. Father Stephen Norris will officiate the service. Let us gather to celebrate the life of Don Potash, a man who lived his life with passion, kindness, and an enduring commitment to the world around him. Don's memory will forever inspire us to explore, give back, and cherish the simple pleasures of life. May he rest in eternal peace.
