Antonino “Antonio” “Tony” Prestipino passed away peacefully at the Life Care Center of Stoneham on Thursday, September 7th. He was 94. Born and raised in Novara di Sicilia, Messina, Sicily, he was the son of the late Antonio and Angela (Genovese) Prestipino. In the 1960’s he came to the United States and settled in Medford where he and his beloved wife Vincenza lived and enjoyed a wonderful life together. Tony worked for over 40 years as a tailor with Brooks Brothers in Boston. He was truly a master of his craft. He was devoted to his wife and family members. He and Vincenza enjoyed travelling to Italy to visit with family and taking cruises in the Caribbean. A kind and friendly man, Tony walked five miles each day, keeping fit right up to the end.
The beloved husband of the late Vincenza (Fiore) Prestipino, who passed away in 2015, Tony was a devoted uncle to George Fiore and his wife Teresa and Rose Tgettis and her husband Chris. He was a loving great-uncle to Stephanie, Paul-Joseph, Jake and a loving great-great uncle to Isabella and Lucas. Tony was the dear brother-in-law of Antonietta Fiore and the late Giuseppe Fiore and leaves many dear relatives in the United States, Canada and Italy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford on Tuesday, September 19th, from 9 – 11 AM followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
