Ralph Howland Chase, Jr., 80, of New Bedford died Thursday June 22, 2006 at Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Doris C. (Griffin) Chase.
Born in Freetown, the son of the late Ralph H. and Florence (Westgate) Chase, he was raised in Dartmouth and lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Chase was the proprietor of Ralph's Friendly Service and Ralph Chase Auto Sales on Mount Pleasant Street until his retirement.
He was a graduate of Dartmouth High School.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lisa Jennifer Cabral and her husband John of New Bedford; a sister, Sally Ellis of Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Alton J. Chase.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Chase Cemetery, Dartmouth. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
