Funeral services for Opal Grace Rogers Head, age 82, of 776 Stanford Rd., Ashburn will be held Sunday, June 25, 2006 at 2:30 P.M. at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Head died Friday in Tifton following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Head was born in Upson County, Georgia and was the daughter of the lae John Thomas and Leola Ballard Rogers. She had lived in Turner County since 1943 and was a retired seamstress and supervisor at Manhattan Shirt Company, Lad & Dad and JACO Pants Company. She was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church and was a member of the Prime Timers, Joyful Messengers, Keen Agers Club and the Samaritan Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Head is survived by her husband, John W. “Billy” Head, Ashburn, step daughter, Dell Nipper and step grandson, Blake Manning, and one step great granddaughter, Bailey Manning, all of Cordele, Ga.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
