FALL RIVER… Frances S. (Skrzypiec) Plocica, 99, passed away, Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Anne’s Hospital.
Frances was the widow of Tadeusz C. Plocica, her loving husband of 63 years.
Frances was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Maciej and Marya (Zmuda) Skrzypiec and lived her life in Fall River.
Frances was employed at the former Lamport Company as a switchboard operator for 28 years retiring in 1973. She was a dedicated member of Blessed Trinity National Catholic Church in Fall River where she was the Organist and Choir Director for 70 years. She was a member of the Chopin Choir since 1939. Frances also served on the Parade Committee since 1949, was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the ANS Society of the Blessed Sacrament, a member of the P.T.A. and was Chairman of the Church’s Annual Harvest Festival for 25 years. For sheer pleasure Frances served as Coordinator of Fran’s A-1 Travel Group for over 60 years. In this capacity, she and her husband facilitated countless trips to the Boston Symphony, regional theater shows and vacation excursions around the country and throughout Europe. She was also coordinator of the luncheon group Classy Ladies for 20 years.
Survivors include her sister Amelia Smialek of Stoneham MA formerly of Tiverton RI and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Walter, John, and William Skrzypiec.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited, will be on, Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. at the South Coast Boyko Funeral Home 1555 Pleasant St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Blessed Trinity Parish of the Polish National Catholic Church, 1340 Plymouth Avenue, Fall River, MA. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the South Coast Boyko Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA. Interment will be in the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery Fall River MA.
