Obituary

Henady Teslenko of Hopkinton, formerly of Passaic, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 2, 2023. He was born in Zaporizhia, Ukraine in 1936 and arrived in the United States in 1955. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Henady was the beloved husband of Lydia, to whom he was married for more than 58 years, until her passing in 2019. He is survived by his children Valentina Dingle and her husband Peter of Cape Neddick, ME; Helen Banadyga and her husband Andrew of Ashland; and son Henady, Jr. of Hopkinton; grandchildren Natalia, Daria, and Alexander; and sister Lydia Patterson and her husband Thomas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Henady is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Melania (nee Bondarenko) Teslenko, and brothers Mykola and Leonard. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit with Henady’s family on Saturday, September 9, 2023, 9:00 AM at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 24 Orchardhill Road, Jamaica Plain, MA, as well as attend a Requiem service in Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at The Gardens of Gethsemane, West Roxbury, followed by a luncheon in the Church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Henady’s memory may be made to St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Boston, or Wounded Warrior Project, or to the charity of one’s choice.
