Annie Ruth Smith Parker, 81, of Valdosta passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in Valdosta. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Parker at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Gateway Baptist Church in Valdosta with the Rev. Jack H. Seiverd officiating. Family and friends are invited for a meal immediately following the service at Mary Ann Marshall’s residence.
Born August 7, 1942, in Moultrie, Mrs. Parker was the daughter of the late Zula Mae Ledford Blair and her step-father, Willie Blair. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, McCoy Fennel and her second husband, Randall P. Parker, Sr. and one son, Robert McCoy Fennel. Before retiring, she worked for 29 years in Quality Control at Crackin’ Good Bakers in Valdosta, and she also retired from the Hahira Middle School lunchroom.
Mrs. Parker is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann Kilpatrick Marshall (Tommy Kilpatrick) of Valdosta; one daughter-in-law, Brandie Fennell; one step-son and his wife, Perry and Christine Parker of Nashville; seven grandchildren, Krystle Kilpatrick, McCoy Fennell, Nichole Rowe and her husband Scott, Zachary Parker, Sean Parker, Ayden Parker and Rebekah Parker; and one great-granddaughter, Claire Rowe.
