Obituary

Mr. Jerome McDonald, age 87, of Wilmington formerly of Woburn, passed away June 20th, at the Winchester Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (McCarron). Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Grace (McGonagle) and Patrick McDonald.

Mr. McDonald worked for many years as an industrial maintenance mechanic and has been retired for a number of years. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving over seas in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland with the 519th Anti Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion.

In addition to his wife Mary, Mr. McDonald is survived by his daughters, Jeanne Liston of Haverhill and Nancy Peabody of Londonderry, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph Liston, Michael, Meredith and Nathan Peabody. He is further survived by his sisters, Ann White of Andover and Grace Donaghey of Stoneham. He is predeceased by his son, Michael McDonald, and brothers, John and William McDonald.

Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home Saturday, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jerome’s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute 44 Binney St. Boston, MA 02115.
