Obituary

Rosemary K. Quinn, 91, of Dartmouth passed away August 25, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Barbara M. (Donaghy) Quinn and Thomas M. Quinn, she lived in Dartmouth most of her life.

Rosemary was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth.

She graduated from Holy Family High School in New Bedford and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She earned a Master of Arts in English from Boston College.

Rosemary taught for thirty-five years in the Dartmouth Public Schools. After beginning her career at the Ottiwell School in New Bedford, she taught at Dartmouth High School and the Potter Elementary School. She was a devoted aunt to her niece and nephews. She especially loved interacting with her many great-nieces and great-nephews, and more recently, her great-grand nieces. Rosemary valued her time spent with friends. She was a "people person." She loved to talk with everyone she met. She enjoyed reading, grammar and discussing politics and current events. Rosemary was passionate about the need for society to support those less fortunate in life. Her warmth, engaging personality and compassion will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her beloved niece and nephews and their families, Thomas Quinn III, Andrew Quinn, John Quinn, Matthew Quinn, Kathleen (Quinn) Hood, Peter Quinn and James Quinn.
She was the sister of the late Thomas M. Quinn, Jr. and James M. Quinn.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, September 1st at 9:00 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth at 10:00 AM.
