
Gertrude N. Linehan a lifelong resident of Charlestown, who turned 100 years of age on June 17, 2006 died on Tuesday June 20, 2006 at Heathwood Nursing Home in Newton, following a long illness.
Gertie was born in Boston on June 17, 1906. She grew up in Charlestown and attended Boston Public Schools. She worked and retired as a clerk for a card store in Boston. She was a member of The Friends Of The Charlestown Library.
Gertie was the beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Hally) Linehan. She was the devoted sister of the late Jeremiah and Ellen Linehan. She is the loving aunt of William T. Coleman of Norfolk and grand-aunt of Paul Richardson of New Hampshire.
Gertie's Funeral will be held on Friday June 23, 2006 at 9 am. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for Gertie will be held on Thursday June 22, 2006 from 2 to 4 pm. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
