Obituary


Pauline A. DiCecca, a Woburn resident for 43 years, formerly of Medford, passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, August 16, 2023. She was 87. Pauline was the beloved wife for 66 years of Joseph DiCecca. Born in Somerville she was the daughter of the late August and Mary (Ferrazzani) Traniello.

Pauline was raised and educated in Somerville. She eventually settled in Medford following her marriage to Joseph on August 11, 1957. Mostly a devoted wife and mother, Pauline worked for over fifteen years as an inspector with the TJX Companies in Woburn. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, dancing, traveling and taking cruises with family and friends. However, her greatest joy was her family and nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by those she loved.

In addition to her beloved husband, Pauline is the devoted mother of Lisa Scannell and her husband Larry of Westford, the late Louis DiCecca and his surviving wife Carrie of Arizona. She is the loving grandmother of Meagan Scannell and Larry Scannell III. Sister of the late Cosmo and Lewis Traniello.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, August 23rd, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
