Dorothy H. (Zagrodny) Plouffe, 85, of Medway, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Bernard L. Plouffe who passed away just one month ago.
Born in Blackstone on April 22, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Yvonne (Raymond) Zagrodny.
Dorothy was a resident of Medway for the past four years and formerly resided in Bellingham for many years. She grew up in Blackstone and graduated from the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, New Hampshire.
She worked as a hairdresser, owning her own salon for over 40 years. After her retirement, she worked along with her husband at their son’s business, New England Overhead Door, for 5 years.
Dorothy loved knitting, crocheting and especially her beloved dogs. She was a member of a bowling league team for many years and enjoyed going to bingo.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Smith and her husband Charles of Medway and Denise Del Gallo and her husband Bruce of Palm Bay, Florida, her son David Plouffe and his wife Robyn of Uxbridge, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of Susan Boucher and her husband Raymond of Melbourne, Florida.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated along with her husband Bernard’s on Thursday, August 31 at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village Street in Medway at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association -National Direct Response, PO Box 756, Osceola, WI 54020-0756.
