Johnnie Frank Warren Phillips, 81, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Friday, August 11, 2023, at her son’s residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, August 14, 2023, at the Ocilla Church of God in Ocilla, with the Rev. Josh Bowles and the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Lee Phillips will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Irwinville Cemetery, Irwinville with the Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Phillips was born July 7, 1942, in Turner County, Georgia, to the late Lawson & Irma Irene Lockerman Warren. She was a 1960 graduate of Irwin County High School. For 33 years, Mrs. Phillips drove a school bus for the Irwin County Board of Education. She had a positive impact on countless lives she encountered on her route throughout her career. She will be remembered for her good Southern cooking, especially her cakes. She was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by her children: Charles & Kay Phillips of Irwinville, Clint & Melanie Phillips of Fitzgerald, Shannon Yawn of Irwinville, and Lee & April Phillips of Irwinville; grandchildren: Chase Phillips, Scott & Kayla Phillips, Austin & Miki Phillips, Lance & Andi Phillips, Stephen & Hailey McMillan, Corey & Monica Phillips, Shawn Edwards, Ty & Haley Phillips, Jacob & Micki Edwards, Chasity Wood, Kelsie Yawn, Abbie Yawn & James Davis, Olivia Phillips, and Bear Phillips; 27 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Jackie Warren & Carol of Cordele, Myrtle Warren Rowell of Irwinville, Larry Warren of Ocilla, and Patricia Warren Eason & Gerald of Ocilla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Phillips; and three brothers: Herbert Warren, Terry Warren, and J.B. Warren.
