Mattie Wright,age 81, of Water Valley, MS died at Baptist Memorial Hospital, N-MS in Oxford, MS on June 19, 2006. Mrs. Wright was married to Ed Wright,Sr.,who preceded her in death in January 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of Bayson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
The visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Thursday evening, June 22, 2006, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 23, 2006 at Bayson Chapel with Reverend Amos Sims officiating. Committal will follow in Basin Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Wright is survived by six daughters, Mary Inez Smith of Milwaukee, WI - Joan Gatson of Joliett, IL - Betty Jo Andrews of Joliett, IL - Martha Willingham of Milwaukee, WI - Dorothy Townsend of Water Valley, MS - Mary Booker of Taylor, MS and Mildred Wright of Milwaukee, WI; three sons, Ed Wright, Jr of Water Valley, MS - Kenneth Miller of Chicago, IL and James Wright of Oxford, MS; two sisters, Roberta Morgan of Water Valley, MS and Katherine Steen of St. Paul, MN; twenty-one grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Ivory McFarland; a son, Willie Wright, three brothers - Ezekial McFarland - Namon McFarland and Uncle Dike.
