Tadeusz J. "Teddy" Michalski, 72, died Sunday, June 18, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Lucille (Roberts) Chmielewski Michalski.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Jacob and Janina (Palucha) Michalski, he lived in New Bedford all of his life. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Mr. Michalski was the proprietor of Electro Refinishing Company in New Bedford for 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and trips to Las Vegas
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Stanley Chmielewski, and his wife Robin, of New Bedford and Steven Chmielewski, and his wife Fatima, of Dartmouth; 3 daughters, Christine Chmielewski and Michelle Medeiros, and her husband Joe, all of New Bedford, and Sharon Braga, and her husband John, of Fairhaven; 2 brothers, Joseph Michalski, and his wife Lorraine, of Dartmouth, and Frank Michalski, and his wife Nicole, of New Bedford; 3 sisters, Flora Gonet, and her husband Joseph, and Ulena Chaberek, all of New Bedford, and Evelyn Bourque, and her husband Norman, of Florida; 7 grandchildren, Kaz and Miranda Stefanik, Jonathan, Tanya, Jennifer and Steven Chmielewski and Trista Carvalho; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 235 N. Front St., New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted.
