Virginia (Verge) Nelson passed away on July 26, 2023 after a brief illness. For 71 years she was the beloved wife of Richard A. Nelson. She was born in 1931 to the late Starr and Esther Verge. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Derry, NH, and a graduate of Pinkerton Academy class of 1949.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her three sons: Steven, David and Robert and their wives Debera, Elaine, and Pamela, as well as three grandchildren: Jessica, Melanie, and Alexander, and one great-granddaughter, Lillian. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
An avid reader, she was the resident Librarian at her home, Birch Heights in Derry. She was a past contributor to the Eastern Star Cookbook. Virginia was an ardent fan of Jeopardy, crossword puzzles, and lifelong fan of the NY Giants!
No visitation services will be held. There will be a celebration- of-life and burial at a later time. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Derry public library, the Dementia Society of America, https://www.dementiasociety.org/donate or a donation to another organization of your choosing in her memory would be appreciated.
