FALL RIVER - Vincent Sousa, 86, of 48 Garden Ave. Somerset, died Friday in Fall River at St. Anne’s Hospital. He was the husband of Alice D. (Nunes) Sousa. He is survived by One Son: Eugene J. Sousa of Orlando, FL and One Daughter: Joyce M. Wilson of Virginia Beach, VA, 4 Granddaughters, 3 Great-grandsons, and Several Nieces and Nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank, Joseph, Manuel, John, and Mathilda Sousa
Born in Taunton, MA, the son of the late Manuel Sousa and the late Maria Sousa. He was a resident of Somerset for 20 years. Prior to retiring in 1982, he worked as a Ship Builder for Gladding-Hearn for Many years. He was a member of St. John of God Church and a past member of the Royal Travelers for many years.
His Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 North Main Street on Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Nathan Slade Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.
