SOMERSET - Viriato R. “Vic” Silva, 65, of 455 Brayton Ave., Somerset, MA, formerly of Eastview Ave., Somerset and Langley St., Fall River, MA, died Sunday at Somerset Ridge Center. He was the husband of the late Caroline(Raulino) Silva. He is survived by One Daughter: Caroline De Almeida of Somerset, MA, One Brother: Manuel Silva of Somerset, MA, One Sister: Maria Sousa of Somerset, MA, Two Grandchildren: Jared and Maegan De Almeida, and Several nieces & nephews. He was also brother of the late Armindo Silva.
Born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Francisco V. Silva and the late Maria (Reis) Silva. He was a Fall River resident from 1955, until moving to Somerset in 1994 until present. Before retiring, he was a Construction Laborer for Gamino Construction Co. He was a former member of the Holy Ghost Committee of St. Michael Church, and a member of Our Lady of Light Band Club. He played soccer for various clubs in Fall River, and he was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave., Somerset at 10:00 A.M. Internment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 5-9 P.M.
