Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Timothy P. Nolan, 71, of East Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, July 13, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on February 17, 1952, a beloved son of the late Howard A. and Elizabeth (Boyle) Nolan. He was raised in Springfield, graduated from Springfield Technical High School and lived in Springfield for most of his life. He was the owner and operator of International Duct Manufacturing in Springfield. He served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a Past Commander and Secretary of the American Legion Post 452 in Chicopee. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Melha Shrine and the Clown Unit, affectionately known as “Gumby”. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Laura J. (Bernard) Nolan. They were married on October 10, 1997 in Chicopee and they were blessed with over 25 years of happiness together. He also leaves his loving daughter, Emma E. Nolan of Springfield; his dear brother, Howard M. Nolan and his wife, Veronica, of Warner Robins, GA; his dear brother in law, Thomas J. Bernard and his wife, Theresa, of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews and nieces including his special niece, Donna Tetreault, his cousins, extended family members and numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his dear brother, Robert Stewart and his wife, Dottie; and his dear sister, Mary Skrabely and her husband, John. Tim’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Baystate Daly 6A Staff for their excellent care and comfort which made his last week of life as comfortable for him as possible. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private.
