Samuel "Sam" S. Guarino, 77 of Londonderry, NH, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Guarino was born in Lodi, NJ on June 12, 1929, a son of the late Salvatore and Elena (Marini) Guarino. He was a resident of Londonderry for the past 13 years, formerly living in Salem, NH. He was a US Army veteran, having served in Korea. Mr. Guarino had worked for many years at Almy's Dept. Store in Methuen, MA. He later worked for Analogic in Peabody, MA retiring in 1992. Following his retirement he worked part time for Trans-Medic in Windham, NH. He loved cooking and eating, going to Mohegan Sun Casino and he was an avid Patriots and Red Sox sports fan. His family life was very important to him and his blended family was his pride and joy. He opened his heart to all.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Charlene (Hanna) Guarino of Londonderry, seven children, Patricia Guarino of New Mexico, Michael Guarino and his wife Lucie of Sandown, NH, Douglas Guarino of Nashua, NH, Laurie Dennehy and her husband Gary of Hampstead, NH, Gayle Feole and her husband Michael of Bradford, MA, Beth Roberts and her husband Michael of Londonderry, Raymond "Skip" Benoit of Londonderry, nine grandchildren, Melissa Guarino, Louis Guarino, Amanda and Matthew Dennehy, Amber, James and Michael Feole, Branden and Bryanna Roberts, two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Gabriel Guarino, two brothers, James Guarino of Lodi, NJ, Joseph Guarino of Saddlebrook, NJ, a sister, Claire Guarino of New York, and his best buddy Charlie, his Shih-Tzu. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Bernard Guarino.
Calling hours were from 2-4 and 6-8pm, Tuesday, June 20th, 2006 in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 21st at 1:00pm in the funeral home. The burial followed Pillsbury Cemetery, Londonderry.
