Lloyd G. Lesperance, 81
Manufacturing Supervisor

Lloyd G. Lesperance, 81, of Norton died on Saturday June 17, 2006 at home surrounded by his devoted family. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris E. “Dolly” (Boynton) Lesperance to whom he was wed for 55 years at the time of her death on March 30, 2003.
Born in Attleboro, Ma on May 30, 1925 he was a dear son of the late Eugene and Alice (Drown) Lesperance.
He grew up in Attleboro and was educated in Attleboro schools. After high school he enlisted in The United States Navy on May 5, 1943 and served on U.S.S. The Sullivans. He was honorably discharged on June 18, 1945 with the rank of Coxswain. He remained close with his fellow shipmates and most recently in September of 2005 he attended U.S.S. The Sullivans DD537/DDG68 Association Reunion held in Colorado Springs.
Mr. Lesperance was a retired Manufacturing Supervisor having worked for the Engelhard Co. for 40 years prior to retirement. He was a member of the Attleboro lodge of Elks and was a former Committee Chairman of the Norton Boy Scouts Troop 61.
Lloyd’s hobbies included gardening, woodworking and salt water fishing. He treasured the times spent with his loving family. He had lived in Norton for the past 58 years and was formerly of Attleboro.
He is survived by his devoted children Lloyd E. Lesperance and his wife Betty-Lu of North Attleboro, Donna M. Hathaway and her husband Ron of Uncasville, Conn., Brian D. Lesperance and his wife Sue of Attleboro, Lynn M. Bernier and her husband Bob of Plainville and Barry D. Lesperance and his wife Kanda of Bath, Penn. His brothers and sisters Richard Lesperance of Virginia, Douglas Lesperance of Attleboro, Shirley L’Esperance of Attleboro, Joan Faria of Taunton and the late Mildred Dumican, Avis Wallace and Olive Leonard. Also survived by his cherished 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday May 20th at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday June 19th from 5-8 P. M. at the funeral home.
