Mary Longo, passed away Wednesday night at the Pond View Nursing Care Center in Weymouth after a extended illness, the wife of the late Athos Longo, she was ninety-four years old.
Born and raised in Milford, MA she was the daughter of the late Louisa (Simeone) and Antonio Ferrucci. Mary worked for over twenty years at the Malden Hospital as a housekeeper retiring in 1980. She volunteered at the hopital for many years after her retirement and was a Medford resident for sixty years.
In addition to her husband Athos she was preceeded in death by her sons Athos Longo, and Caro Aramis; and a daughter Judith Sinclair.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie Carter of Marshfield and Rose Nolan of New Hampshire, one son Robert of Medford. Seventeen loving grandchildren and sixteen loving great grandchildren.two sisters, Josephine Capuzziello and Virginia Riccardelli of Milford, two brothers, Attellio Ferrucci of Milford and Rudolph Ferrucci of Hopedale. She is predeceased by her sister Rose Trotta, two brothers James and Anthony Ferrucci.
Her funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, on Monday August 19, at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford at 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
