Obituary

Cheryl Ann (Faris) Pope, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2023, in Smyrna, Tennessee. She was born on November 30, 1957, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Dolores "Dolly" Drabble and the late George Faris. Cheryl was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and above all, a devoted mother to her two sons, Jason and Joshua.

Cheryl's biggest accomplishment in life was becoming a mother to her two dear sons. She was a talented artist and an avid music and animal lover. Her smile and laugh were contagious, her devotion to her family unmatched, and her heart and soul both equally beautiful.

Cheryl will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched throughout the years.

She is survived by her two sons, Jason Faris and his wife, Misti, and Joshua Pope and his fiancé, Alexis; her mother, Dolores "Dolly" Drabble; her sisters, Jeanne Smith and her husband, Billy, and JoAnn Drabble; her brother, Charles Drabble and his wife, Laurie, along with many nieces and nephews. Cheryl also leaves behind her best friends of many years, Doreen Leverault, Mariam Nero, and Cynthia Pierson, and her beloved grandcat, Marley. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, George Faris, and her brothers, David Drabble, and Richard Drabble.

The legacy of Cheryl will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her compassion, creativity, and her lifelong relationship with God.

May Cheryl's soul rest in eternal peace, and may the memories of her love and light provide solace to all who mourn her loss.
Always in our thoughts but forever in our hearts.
