Dorothy A. Nugeness, passed away on Monday June 26th after celebrating her 99th birthday on June 18th. She was the loving wife of the late James Nugeness Sr. They had been married for 75 years.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Michael and Louise Mekuto and had lived in Johnston her entire life. Dorothy was a cook with the Johnston School Department for over 20 years before retiring. She loved to bake and whenever you stopped over you could be sure there would always be a homemade sweet or goodie brought out on the table. She took much pride in her beautiful Christmas cookie trays that she made every year for family and friends.
She leaves her sons, Ronald Nugeness of North Providence, James Nugeness Jr. of Johnston, and the late Bradley Nugeness. She was the grandmother of Ronald Nugeness, Christine Nugeness and Kendra Morales. She was the great-grandmother of Mikko and Maiya Morales who gave her the loving nickname of “Gigi” which she adored. She was also called “Gramma Dot” by many that loved her.
Her funeral and burial will be private.
