Abel F. Nogueira, 78, of Dartmouth died Monday, June 19, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Susan C. (Touchette) Nogueira.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Abel and Rose (Rezendes) Nogueira, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and the Rhode Island Radio and Electronics School.
Abel worked as the Regional General Manager for Philips Medical Systems for many years until his retirement. He was a proud member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, for over forty years. Able loved sports and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his good friends and members of the Dartmouth Saltwater Anglers Club and the Acushnet River Safe Boating Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Tuoti and her husband Paul of West Kingston, RI, and Carol J. Nogueira and her husband Luke Messer of Orlando, FL; his brother-in-law, Robert Touchette and his partner Rebecca McCann of Mattapoisett; his sister-in-law, Paula Jennings of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Zachary, Alexandra, and Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews.
