Gilford-Eleanor Mary Marcotte-Belair, 77, of Liscomb Circle died Thursday morning, June 15, 2006 at Genesis ElderCare Network-Laconia Center after a brief illness.
Eleanor was born in Laconia on January 12, 1929, the daughter of the late Harriet St. Michael. Raised and schooled in Franklin she had been a lifelong resident of the Lakes Region.
Eleanor was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She was a member of the Laconia Rod and Gun Club, and a member of the Laconia Snow Shoe Club where she held the office of President of the Women’s Auxiliary. Eleanor worked as a Sales Associate for 11 years at the former Ames Department Store in Tilton, and for many years as a professional housekeeper in the Lakes Region with several former clients within the Sunrise Towers in Laconia.
Eleanor was predeceased by her first husband, Roland Marcotte in 1977.
Eleanor is survived by her three sons, Paul R. Marcotte of Gilford, Michael R. Marcotte of Meredith, and Roland Gary Marcotte of Gilford, two grandchildren, Justin Marcotte and Renee Hoover, two great grandchildren, Cody Marcotte and Tyler Byrd. A cousin, Rene Cohen of Massachustetts, also survives her.
Visiting hours were held on Monday evening, June 19th, 2006 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Funeral Services and burial in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia were private at the convenience of the family.
