LACONIA ---- Peter Richard Sawyer, 78, of Laconia, NH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Laconia Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Laconia, NH on September 22, 1944, Peter was the son of the late George A. Sawyer and Ruth (Nolan) Sawyer.
Peter is survived by his wife, Sally (Withington) Sawyer; son, Pepper and his wife Carrie of Laconia; daughter, Samantha Sawyer of Gilford; brother, Roger and his wife Jerry Sawyer of Gilford; sister, Nancy Mawson and her husband Peter of Gilford; sister-in-law, Susanne Carey of Florida; grandchildren, Peyton and Jaimen; and nephews, Peter John “PJ”, James, Tim, Justin, and Shayne Carey. In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Dudley Carey, and nephew, Colten.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 22nd at 1:00pm at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH, followed by a reception at the church. Hawaiian shirts preferred suits optional.
Following the reception, a Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 4:00pm at Pine Grove Cemetery, Belknap Mountain Road, Gilford, NH.
