Obituary

CHICOPEE – Lillian M. (Comfort) Nallen, 93, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at her home surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Palmer on May 23, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late Leon J. and Theresa C. (Barber) Comfort. She was raised in Palmer, graduated from Palmer High School and moved to Chicopee in 1953 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a bookkeeper and office manager at the former Northeast Technical Services in Chicopee and retired in 1997. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and later in life she enjoyed traveling, often with the China Marine Association. She enjoyed spending time with her family at Beaver Lake in Ware. She was a longtime communicant of the former Saint Patrick Church where she was a member of the Altar Society and the School Building Committee and was currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church, both in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas E. Nallen. They were married on May 30, 1953 at Saint Thomas Church in Palmer and were blessed with over 66 years together. Lillian is survived by her daughter Susan and son in-law, John Bialas of Auburn, son Thomas and daughter-in-law Margo of North Andover, son Michael and daughter-in-law, Linda of Brewster, sister Lorraine Martins of Ware, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Leah Bedson and her husband, James, and brother in law John Martins. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 12 p.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Patrick Cemetery, 168 Fuller Road, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
