FALL RIVER… Kyle J. Pontes, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.
Born in Fall River, MA, Kyle was the son of Charles J. and Sandra Pontes of Somerset, MA and the late Teresa J. (Benoit) Pontes. He was also the beloved husband of Charity (Bell) Pontes.
Kyle worked as a sanitation engineer for E-Z Disposal. He was known in his younger years to be a great baseball player as well as an avid bowler. He continued to enjoy bowling, joining a league in recent years. He was a member of the Italian Progressive Club (IPC) and served as the former bar manager. He was also one of the creators of the famous IPC Bloody Mary. Kyle also enjoyed fishing and was well known as a jokester. His quick wit made everyone around him laugh and he could always put a smile on your face.
In addition to his father, step-mother and wife, survivors include: daughters, Maddison Pontes, Morgan Pontes and Casey Pontes of Somerset, MA, and Tayla Luz and Bryanna Gibeau of Fall River, MA; son, Hayden Luz of Fall River, MA; brother, Derek Pontes and his girlfriend Mary Mazza of Coventry, RI; grandson, Kole Conlon; grandmother, Doris Pontes; parents-in-law, Robert and Rose Marie Bell and Carol Berube; many cousins, aunts, uncles; and many, many loving friends.
A celebration of life to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Italian Progressive Club, 310 Slade Street, Fall River, MA 02724.
