New Bedford – Edna P. Sylvia, age 91, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Fernanda (Brandao) and Antone P. Sylvia.
She had graduated from New Bedford High School in 1949. Where she was very active in scheduling class reunions for many years. She was well known for being a medical assistant for Dr. Sciuto for many years.
Edna is survived by her nieces, Edna Walsh of Mattapoisett, MA and Susan Sylvia of Dartmouth, MA; Sister-in-law Clara Sylvia of Dartmouth, Ma; As well as many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Antone P. Sylvia, Helen P. Sylvia, and Mildred Rezendes and aunt of the late Steven Rezendes; as well as her Godparents, Seraphine and Ann Sylvia whom she shared a special relationship with.
Her Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church will be Friday June 23 at 10:00 A.M., Family will accept quests at the Funeral Home from 8:30 -9:30 A.M.
The family would also like to extend their sincerest thank you to the Jewish Convalescent home in New Bedford for their excellent care over the past 10 years.
