Rogelia Simaj Morente, 36, of New Bedford died Sunday, June 4, 2023 unexpectedly at Boston Medical Center. She was the wife of Baldomero Lucas Garcia.
Born in Acatenango, Chimaltenango, Guatemala, daughter of Juan Simaj and Lucia Morente, she immigrated to the United States in 2011.
She was a member of Centro Cristiano Emanuel in New Bedford.
Rogelia enjoyed taking care of her children, cooking, and music.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two children, Devin Lucas and Baldomero Lucas Simaj; and 7 siblings, Carlos, Santos, Celso, Yanira, Edy, Gerson, and Vanesa.
The family asks all guests attending the funeral to please wear white.
Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 11:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
