Barbara Ann Bonardi passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023, at age 85. She was born in Norwood, Massachusetts to parents John and Rose Smith. She graduated from Walpole High School where she met the love of her life, Anthony (Tony) Bonardi.
Married in 1954, the couple moved to Boynton Beach in 1959, where they raised their family. Barbara worked at Pine Grove Elementary in Delray Beach for 28 years, where she was adored and respected by the faculty and students.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents and her brother, James Smith. She was married to Tony Bonardi for 42 years, until his passing in 1996 and her daughter Doreen (Bonardi) Steele in 2012. Barbara leaves behind her children Shirley (Bonardi) Fitzgerald (Matt) of Sugar Land, Texas, and Fred Bonardi (Barbara) of Boynton Beach, Florida. Her grandchildren David (Michelle) Steele, Tony (Stephanie) Steele, Nicole (Paul) Wasko, John (Laura) Fitzgerald, Ryan (Jenna) Fitzgerald, Tony Bonardi and Nicholas Bonardi. Her great-grandchildren, Ellie Jackson, Sullivan, Luke, Lainey, Leah, and Lauren Steele; Trey, Hudson and Adalyn Wasko, Emma, Caroline, Sophia, and May Fitzgerald.
Her funeral mass will be held in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Walpole, on Saturday, June 24 at 10:30 am.
Burial will be alongside her husband at St. Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
