Obituary

Richard L. Lavache 88, of Rochester, New Hampshire, and a former resident of Randolph, MA, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Medical Center in Nashua, New Hampshire on Thursday June 1, 2023, following an illness.

Born February 3, 1935 in Boston, a son of the late Victor C. and Anna E. (Schortmann) Lavache, he was raised and educated in the West Roxbury section of Boston, where he was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He then attended Boston University, where he received his Bachelors degree in Music Education.

He enlisted in the Air Force in November 1955, he attained the rank of Airman 2nd Class and was honorably discharged in 1959. After returning home he became a music teacher and taught for many years in Canton, MA, until his retirement.

Upon settling in New Hampshire he became the music director at the First Congregational Church, Rochester.

He is survived by his brothers, Peter C. Lavache and his wife Lynne of South Carolina, Stephen J. Lavache and his wife Ginger of Cumberland, Rhode Island, his sister, Linda M. Anastasia of North Attleboro, and many nieces & nephews.

He was the brother of the late Victor Lavache, Robert Lavache, Daniel Lavache and Patricia (Lavache) Greenwood.

Richard’s request to have a private service followed by military honors and interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne will be honored.
