Obituary




Ronald Peter Ciras, 72, of Worcester died Wednesday, May 31st at home. He is survived by his six brothers, William and his wife, Robin of Quinebaug, CT, Steven and his girlfriend, Debora Herlihy of Thornton, NH, Thomas and his wife, Jane of Charlton, Joseph and his wife, Terry of Westminster, James and his wife, Laurie of Whitinsville, and Paul and his wife, Michelle of Skaneateles, NY; as well as 16 nieces and nephews and their 14 children. He also leaves a large number of friends and extended family members.
He was born in Worcester the son of the late Vitty and Ora (Fournier) Ciras and lived in Worcester most of his life. He enjoyed reading and was an ardent member of the Red Sox Nation. Ronald was an accomplished writer and poet. At one time, Ron spent time in Morocco as a Peace Corp volunteer.
His funeral is Monday, June 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s name to the Red Sox Foundation (www.redsoxfoundation.org)
