Obituary

DANVILLE – Lynda Anne Davis, 78, of Atwell Rd., passed away peacefully Tuesday at her residence.

Services will be held Saturday June 3, 2023 at 11:00AM at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Danville, GA. Burial will be at 3:30PM in Irwinville Cemetery in Irwinville, GA. Rev. Dwayne Bedingfield will officiate.

Mrs. Davis was born in Fitzgerald, GA the daughter of the late Joe and Dorothy Mobley Hair. She was preceded in death by her brothers Max Hair and Jeff Hair. Lynda was a 1962 Graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She was a loving and supportive wife of Frankie Davis for over 60 years and a loving mother to her daughter, Cara Lee and her son Brent. She was also a business owner of Davis Shoe Store in Fitzgerald and co-owner, with Hazel McCranie, of The Personal Touch in Fitzgerald. Lynda was also a talented drapery maker and designer. She apprenticed under Audrey Williams in Fitzgerald. She then was the owner and operator of a custom drapery business for over 20 years. While living in Fitzgerald, Lynda was an active member of Central United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. In 1997 Lynda and Frankie moved to Danville, GA to begin transitioning into retirement and to be close to their kids and grandkids in Macon and Atlanta. They joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Danville. Her hobbies included bible study, charity work, and the sewing ministry at church. Lynda suffered from dementia for many years, but quoted bible verses and sang hymns up until the end. She loved her family and friends, but above all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is finally done with the suffering and is Home with her Lord and Savior. We love and will miss you Lynda Anne Hair Davis. It is not a good bye, it is we will see you later.

Lynda is survived by her husband Frankie Davis; son Brent (Amy) Davis; daughter Cara Davis Hamby; brother Joe Hair; seven grandchildren, Mobley, Cord and Emma Hamby, and Franky (Anna), Emily Rose, Matthew and Mimi Davis; great grandchildren, Trey and Ellie Davis.

The family will receive friends for 10:00AM to 11:00AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
