Danvers
Past Master William A. Craig, Sr., Essex Lodge, 78, of Danvers, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Monday, May 29, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Silva) Craig with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Marie G. (Bellevue) Craig. Prior to moving to Danvers, he was resident of Salem and later Peabody. Bill first worked for the United Shoe Machine Corporation in Beverly and over the years for Aulson Tannery Machine Co. of Beverly, Case Tool and Gear Co. of Lynn, United Technologies of Salem and General Electric of Lynn.
Bill was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them as well as fly fishing, fly tying and model ship building. He was a proud Past Master of the Essex Lodge of Salem and was a member of St. Peter Episcopal Church of Salem.
In addition to his devoted wife Nancy, his is survived by his sons, William A. Craig, Jr. and wife Danielle of Salem, Antonio R. Craig of Danvers, his brother, Robert F. Craig and wife Frances of Danvers, his grandson, Maverick Craig of Salem. He also leaves, a niece Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Ramirez and husband Mark of Wisconsin and nephew David Craig and wife Karen of Danvers.
Relatives and friends are invited to his calling hours on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with his Masonic Memorial Service to take place at 6:00 PM, in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem. His funeral service will be in the funeral home on Saturday, June 3nd at 10:30 AM. Burial at a later date will be private.
