Obituary

Walter “Trey” Good Armstrong III, age 52, a longtime resident of Winchester, passed away on May 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer (Budniak) Armstrong.

Born in Cherry Point, NC, Trey was the son of Walter G. Armstrong II and Vera A. (Dickson) Armstrong. He was raised and educated in Easton, MA and was a 1989 graduate of Oliver Ames High School where he was a state finalist on the golf team. He attended his dream school, Villanova University, and remained a lifelong fan of Villanova basketball.

Trey met the love of his life, Jennifer, his junior year of college. It was (almost) love at first sight. They were married a year and a half later in October 1994.

Upon graduation, Trey went to work in the family business, W.G. Airs, Inc. in downtown Winchester, where he and Jennifer raised their family. He was able to further cultivate his passion for people at Arrow Paper Corp where he spent the remainder of his career working in sales. He will be remembered as fiercely dedicated to his children and family. He loved watching Drew’s hockey from the top of the stands, playing catch with Lilly, and watching Boston sports and movies with Catherine. In his spare time Trey enjoyed golfing, date nights with Jennifer, and coaching his children’s sports.

In addition to his devoted wife, Jennifer, and his parents Walter and Vera, of Burlington, Trey is survived by his children: Walter “Drew” G. Armstrong IV, Lilly Mae Armstrong and Catherine Rose Armstrong, all of Winchester. He was the dear brother of David M. Armstrong and his wife Jennifer of Oreland, PA, the cherished uncle of Jake, Brennan, Aidan, Fiona, Madelyn, Gavin, Conner, Landon and Austin; the son-in-law of Theodore and Patricia Budniak, the brother-in-law of Todd Budniak and his wife Heidi, and Rebecca Budniak, all of Norristown, PA.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Visiting Hours at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 9:30AM-11:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, at 12:00 noon.
