Obituary

Edith (D’Arpino) Lincoln, 96, passed away peacefully Saturday May 27th after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife to the late Howard Lincoln for 68 years.

Born in East Bridgewater and raised in Whitman, she was the daughter to the late Frederico and Augustina (Batti) D’Arpino. Edith was a graduate of Whitman High School, class of 1945.

In her younger years Edith was a proud and active member of the Mother’s Club in Whitman, as well as the Red Hat Lady’s Club.

For many years Edith worked at the Foxboro Company as an instructor.

After retirement in 1984, she along with her husband had moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where they remained until returning in 2002 to live in Bridgewater.

Above all, Edith’s true love was spending time with her family. She had fond memories of going on cruises with her family.

Edith leaves behind her loving children; Paula M. O’Loughlin and her husband Jack of Bourne, Howard E. Lincoln, Jr. and his wife Charlene of FL, Fred F. Lincoln and his wife Cindy of Raynham, Donna J. Levesque and her husband Duane of Middleboro, Michael W. Lincoln and his wife Tracey of Raynham, Jana E. Nash and her husband Alphonse of Whitman, and Kelly A. Vincenzi of Carver. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister to the late Anthony D’Arpino, Angeline Treptow, Mary McLoud, Eleanor Brown, and Louise Langton.

Her services will be held Friday June 2 at 9:45 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Followed by a burial at the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Thursday June 1 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
