Sandra J. (Landry) Proctor, age 75, of Brockton, died peacefully on May 24, 2023 at Accent Care Hospice in Milton. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Phyllis (Haskins) Landry.
For many years Sandy worked at J. L. Hammett, a school supply company. Following her retirement, she became a Home Health Aide and enjoyed helping the elderly of Brockton. She was very involved in the Brockton Housing Authority and served on the Board of Directors. Sandy was the president, coordinator and event planner of her building and was voted Tenant of the Year by the Brockton Housing Authority.
She had a fun spirit and loved to dance, party, entertain family and friends and gamble. She was fond of animals, especially her cat Sammy.
Sandy is survived by her three daughters, Michele Cappiello of Pawtucket, RI, Cindy Cappiello of Stoughton, and Vicki Garcia and her husband Ralph of Brockton; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was the sister of Steven “Barney” Landry and his wife Diane of Bridgewater, Linda Mallard of Brockton and the late Jacqueline Gray, Richard Landry, Robert Landry and Craig Landry. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Tuesday, May 30 from 10am-12pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 12pm. Donations in Sandy’s name may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th St., Ste 609, New York, NY 10036.
