Obituary

John F. “Jackie” Davenport III, age 57, of Boston passed away May 23rd with his family by his side. Born in Boston, he was raised in Dedham and graduated from St. Sebastian’s School in Needham. He owned and operated an office petition company for several years. Jackie was an avid hockey player and fan and especially loved watching the Bruins. He was also a talented mechanic and could fix any auto issue even when blindfolded. However, Jackie was more known for his intelligence and his huge, compassionate heart. Over the years, countless people have remarked that he was a loyal friend who would give you the shirt off his back. He loved listening to his music. He loved his two daughters, Rachelle and Hannah. Jackie had an extremely close bond with his mother. Her wish was to be home, with her children and without pain in her last hours and Jackie made all that happen for her. He had a great sense of humor and brought those close to him endless laughter. If he genuinely cared for you, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for you. His daughter Rachelle remembers him as being “so smart, so fun and giving the best advice.” He was loved and will be missed by many.
Beloved son of the late John F. Jr. and Eileen A. (Schneider) Davenport. Father of Rachelle Davenport of Dedham and Hannah Davenport of Seattle, WA. Brother of Kathleen Davenport of Raynham and Denise Davenport of NH.
Graveside service will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton Tuesday morning, May 30th at 10:00. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
