Obituary

Brian Richard Price, 41, of Uncasville, Ct died of Diabetic complications on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

Brian was born on the Navy SubBase in Groton, son of the Rev. Stanley R. Price Jr. and Deborah Brocher Price who passed in 2015. Growing up in a military family he lived in many locations including Italy, Virginia, South Carolina, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts throughout his childhood, joining Cub Packs and Boy Scout troops at every one of his father’s duty stations. He proudly became an Eagle Scout in 1999. The Boy Scouts instilled a love of the outdoors and a commitment to community and service that he carried with him until he passed. Brian embodied the idealized version of a Boy scout. He was loyal, helpful, friendly, and kind. He had even been known to help old ladies cross the street.

Brian graduated from Fitch Sr High School in 2000. In his young adult years, Brian was an MRT and a volunteer firefighter at the Center Groton Fire department. He eventually joined Electric Boat working through the ranks to become a docking technician, where he continued to work until his death. Brian was clever and inventive, and it seemed like he could build or fix anything. He was a devoted husband to his wife Debora who he married in June of 2009 after a whirlwind romance. Their love story is theirs to tell, but Brian will continue to be Debora’s rock, and forever first true love.

He was a dedicated and loving father to his daughter Alice. Brian fervently wanted to be at every one of his daughter’s milestones and he would go without sleep to be there for all of her events. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and always wanted to be in the outdoors as much as possible. Some of Brian’s most cherished moments were the times he spent on the lake in Maine with his family and dog, George. He had a passion for rock climbing and had recently joined Latitude Climbing Gym in Virginia where he spent many of his last days happily scaling the walls. His quick wit and warmhearted disposition made him many lifelong friends that he considered family. He gave the best hugs. Brian will be remembered for his loyalty, quick dry humor, generous spirit, and humble nature. He will be missed dearly.

In addition to his wife Debora and daughter Alice, Brian is survived by his father, Rev. Stanley R. Price Jr. and his wife Carol, his three sisters Rebecca, Rachel, and Katherine and their families, his aunt Susan Herrick, and uncles Donald Price, David Brocher, Bobby Brocher, and Danny Brocher, as well as a number of cousins and extended family. His unexpected death is felt deeply by all that knew him.

A funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 4, on what would have been his 42nd birthday. The service starts at 2:00PM at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 181 Elizabeth Street in Norwich. Burial is Private. The Dinoto Funeral Home is assisting the family. Instead of flowers, the family hopes that you would perform a random act of generosity in Brian’s memory. Kindness is free, spread it everywhere.
